Meet Our Team
Ladakh Travel Co. is only as good as the people we keep and we make a conscious effort to employ only the most dedicated, qualified and professional people for our team. Our combined skills, experience and passion for client satisfaction is what makes our business so successful, and together, we work hard to maintain a united front of best practice service for all our guests.
LYNNE WELCHPEOPLE PLEASERWith a professional background in Social Work and a lifelong career of service oriented jobs, Lynne took a break from her creature comforts in Australia to travel more and experience life. Combining her passion for adventure and her professional interest in community development, Lynne volunteered her way through South East Asia for almost two years before deciding to permanently settle in India.
Lynne's greatest contribution to Ladakh Travel Co. is her first-hand knowledge and understanding of western expectations as well as her ongoing commitment to providing quality customer service and keeping people happy. |
SONAM DAWAfleet services managerDawa is the official Vehicle Fleet Manager for Ladakh Travel Co. - taking on one of the biggest responsibilities in our business - transportation!
Dawa's work is very important as he makes sure that all the vehicles and drivers that we use are in top condition. This includes hiring reliable and experienced drivers, as well as ensuring that all our fleet vehicles are up to date with their required paperwork and mechanical servicing. Dawa also works as one of our most popular drivers and has proved an invaluable member of our team with his incredible ability to predict the weather and conditions of the road based on his experience as a driver for the last 12 years. |
STANDIN TSETANGUEST SERVICES COORDINATORTsetan is our multi-talented Office Manager who works behind the scenes to do whatever needs doing to make our business run smoothly and efficiently. Tsetan looks after our clients, our office (and sometimes our son Oscar!) and he is well and truly part of our business family.
Tsetan comes from a tiny village in Zangskar, and has been working as a tour and trekking guide for as long as he can remember. He is also a highly qualified mountaineering expert which makes him our chief 'go-to' man for all things adventure trekking - including the famous Chadar frozen river trek and various summit climbs. When Tsetan isn't in the office, he's usually socialising with our guests or learning (the hard way!) how to ride a bike. |
PHUNTSOG ANGCHUKPRIMARY TOUR GUIDEAngchuk is our primary tour, monastery and Ladakhi culture guide. Before joining our team, Anghcuk studied a 'Bachelor of History' (majoring in Political Science) keeping his summer holidays free to work as a freelancer.
Angchuks knowledge and personal interest in the history and culture of Ladakh make him a valuable (and very knowledgeable!) member of our team. Angchuk cites his hobbies as listening to 'The Constitution of India' on repeat, studying whenever he gets a chance and going for long drives in his dad's car! |
TSERING SANDUPLOGISTICS MANAGER Sandup comes from a tiny village in the region of Nubra Valley but that did not deter him from anything. He worked hard to pursue his education and interest in the travel industry and he proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters Degree (in Tourism) from Jammu University.
Sandup spent over five years working for other leading travel agencies before taking on the challenge of building his own dream company 'Ladakh Travel Co.' Sandups in-depth knowledge of Ladakh combined with his personal experience, trusted networks and insight into the local culture is by far the most priceless asset of our tours. |
STANZIN OSCARMASTER OF ADVENTUREThe pride and joy of our family business - our littlest adventurer (boss-in-training) Oscar has been flying around the world and exploring Ladakh since the age of three months.
He's the smallest member of our team but he has the biggest personality and he can often be seen hanging around the office, enjoying a play date with our guests kids or amusing the locals with his Ladakhi eyes and 'yellow' hair. Oscar loves picking apricots and petting his paternal grandmother's cows and sheep just as much as he likes train rides and amusement parks - which makes him the perfect blend of the Himalayas and the western world! |
